Welcome to the Future and Remember AI is Always Watching You!

The video sparked my thinking about the possibilities that AI will bring to the world. The beginning of the video shocked me with the horrors that it could bring. Then the video showed all the positives that AI would bring. I think that AI could be a potentially dangerous thing as it can become smarter than humans, but I do think that it is inevitable.

In the next fifteen years the majority of human jobs will be threatened by AI. The first big jump with AI was in 2016. Google created the online game Go. There was a big competition in Seoul, South Korea. The game, Alpha Go, created by Google and was the first AI game that learned as it interacted. As the human and the AI played the game the AI technology continued to learn about the moves that could be presented. Eventually it could see ten steps ahead and outsmarted the human. At the end of competition the human won one and the AI won four. The first big victory for AI learning.

Kai-Fu-Lee was the creator of voice recognization for Apple technology. Today, he is the head of Google in China. He explains that China is way ahead in AI technology then any other country. The country has

already developed a system that allows its constituents to pay for items via facial recognization. He explained that people rarely bring credit cards around anymore. He also explained that packages and deliveries have started to be delivered via drone. China also has a lot more users of technology.

Megvii is working on an AI identification system. It is the system that is currently being used in China to allow people to pay with face recognization. In .1 seconds they are able to recognize you. However, they are doing more than making it easier to pay, they are also using it to catch j-walkers. The system takes pictures of faces that j-walk and sends them a warning or bill in the mail.

AI is currently being used on the US Southwest Interstate. A company is designing tractor trailers that are self-driving. Goods are already being driven on set paths to destinations via the self-driving trucks. The creator of the self-driving truck is Alex Rodrigues. He said he is really trying to solve traffic fatalities by
creating a truck that does not need a human to drive it. The truck is programed to follow a path that leads from point A to point B. The truck must also learn to maintain speed, even with other cars on the road. He hopes that it will also cut shipping expenses too.

After watching this video my mind was opened to the idea of having AI. It surprised me that AI will be here sooner than we think. Most AI will be ready to launch within the next five years and other technologies have already started in the real world.

There is one thing that really frightens me and that is that AI will replace us. It will replace human jobs and put so many out of work. It has the potential to become smarter than us. It also has the potential to collect data on us and to spy on us. It will allow not only the AI, but the government to constantly know what we are doing and where we are all the time. Before we know it, it will know what we are thinking.

The government already has the ability to watch us and know tons of information about us based on the technology we own. They watch us through our cameras, they collect data on what we search, they listen to our conversations, and they track our every move. It is scary to think that soon they will be able to know even more information about us.

Another big problem that I am worried about is the take over of AI. Some AI prototypes have already proven to be smarter than humans. One even saying that it would destroy humanity. I am very worried for the future. I would not be surprised if World War III was against artificial intelligence. Knowing that the world will have computers that are smarter than human beings is really scary because the chances of them beating us in a war is much higher.

AI has a lot of positives it will help lower the traffic death rate, creates an easy way for customers to buy things, and makes manufacturing and travel easier and faster. However, it also has a lot of cons. There is the fact that the government will be able to obtain even more information on us through AI. There is also the problem that AI may eventually become smarter than us humans, and will have the power to take over the world. There is a lot to think about as we welcome the world of AI and it is not all good.
